Costa Calida Property – Corvera Golf & Country Club

José María Olazábal is one of the great names in golf so it stands to reason as a golfer you would want to play on a course designed by the double Masters champion. You'll soon have the chance at the new Corvera golf resort near the Costa Cálida in Murcia, Spain where you can also take the opportunity to view and buy a property overlooking the greens and fairways of this fantastic golf course.

Corvera Golf and Country Club is one of Murcia’s newest golf resorts. Phase one and two of property development is already complete and residents are now moving in. Over a thousand golf properties have been sold so now is the time to make an investment at what is destined to become one of Europe's premier golf resorts. Here we’ll look at Corvera resale golf property and the facilities that will be on offer at the resort.

Getting there

Corvera’s great location means getting to the resort will be quick and simple as a new airport is currently under construction and just a ten minute drive from the club. Work is due to be completed by August 2010 which means Corvera golf resort will have a dedicated airport to whisk you from the UK to your stunning new property (and some great golfing!). In the meantime, San Javier Airport is just 45km away and served by daily flights to and from the UK.

Corvera Golf and Country Club location

Just 20 minutes from the crystal clear waters of Mar Menor on the Costa Cálida and situated at the foot of the Carrascoy mountain range (one of the most desirable places to buy property in Murcia), Corvera Golf and Country Club is 15 minutes south of the city of Murcia and next to one of the region’s nature reserves.

Golf property at Corvera golf resort

Corvera golf property includes 2 bedroom apartments, 3 bedroom townhouses and 4 bedroom villas so there’s plenty of investment opportunity at the resort for every budget. The properties are located around the championship golf course in a peaceful, relaxing and comfortable environment. The apartments, townhouses and villas are finished in colour schemes that blend perfectly with the resort's surroundings.

Corvera golf resort facilities

Corvera golf resort may be a work in progress but development is progressing at quite a rate. As you enter over the brow of the hill you’ll be met with a stunning view of the resort with the golf course in the foreground and the properties and Carrascoy mountains as the backdrop.

The whole resort is enclosed by a perimeter barrier and the new guardhouse entrance has just been completed along with the entrance avenue which is lined with mature plants and shrubbery. Planting around the resort is ongoing so each day sees a new, improved and greener Corvera.

The resort will have a 5-star 200 bedroom hotel operated by DeVere so any visitors to the resort will receive a high level of quality and service during their stay. Residents will soon be able to take advantage of an Equestrian Centre boasting 24 stables and a training ring. Those who enjoy sports will be pleased to hear that facilities at Corvera are due for completion this summer and will include grass and clay tennis courts and a multi-purpose football, basketball and handball court. For the fitness and health enthusiasts, there'll be a gym, spa and health centre.

Next to sports areas will be a commercial centre with shops, bars and restaurants to ensure you’ll never be without entertainment when off the golf course.

Corvera golf course and clubhouse

José María Olazábal and his company IGD have been hard at work designing and supervising construction of the course at Corvera which will become the winter headquarters for the European PGA. The 18-hole par 72 course covers over 6,700 metres and is planned to host professional competitions with Sam Torrence as its Director of Golf.

Construction of the course finished in April and the months of May and June were spent sowing the fairways, roughs and greens. Later in the summer there’ll be the final installation of equipment and finishing touches before the course gets its inauguration later in 2009. The driving range is already open.

The golf clubhouse is situated to the north of the course between holes 9 and 18. Over 2,500 square metres of space over two floors and a basement will house generously sized rooms for multi-purpose use. On the ground floor will be the pro shop, changing facilities (members and non-members) and a small supermarket for residents to buy groceries. The first floor has stunning views over the course and includes 200 square metres of outdoor terraces. Inside you will find a selection of bars plus a restaurant.

Next to the clubhouse will be the annexe buildings of which one will be home to the official PGA teaching academy to help young golfers on the road to success as well as giving residents the opportunity to improve their game.

Once complete, Corvera Golf and Country Club will be one of the most desirable golf resorts to own a property so you really should take advantage of the favourable terms currently on offer.

Picking your Golf Equipment

Playing any sport requires you to have your own equipment to use that will allow you to play the game correctly. For golf, you essentially need a golf club and a few golf balls, incase some get lost. Pretty simple really, but you can venture off into many other things suchs as golf bags, golf club headcovers or even the more expensive but better technology hybrid golf clubs. The golf ball is pretty simple as they are small white balls that have tiny dimples on them to improve length of travel. The actual golf club is made of two components – the shaft and the head and both can different depending on if it is going on a putter or driver.

The golf club driver is definately one of the first golf clubs that you get in your set. This is used on the initial hit of the hole to drive the ball a good distance and get the closest possible to the end goal. Your landscape will disctate what type of golf club driver will make the right drive. You will then also need your golf club wedges and irons, and putters to complete your golf club set. You will definately find all of this equipment new at any golf store, but you may also look into buying a used golf club iron set if you are starting out and want to learn the game.

After you purchase your golf clubs and balls, you will need the other visual and convenience factored equipment. These include the golf club bag, which conveniently will hold all your clubs to take around the course. They will will also be the walking shoes and clothes that you wear that will comfortably allow you to shoot the best shots. Finally, you have smaller items like the golf club tee and golf club headcovers. Golf club headcovers are optional and is not used by every golfer. For those who play often and don’t want to keep walking the holes, you can use a handy golf cart to get around the golf course. Fujikura ZCOM Six – The Quiet Shaft Built for Distance

Overview/Technology-

The Fujikura ZCOM Six is one of those golf shafts that doesn’t necessarily get the wide-spread praise that some of the other Fujikura shaft receive.  But let me tell you, this is one sweet shaft.

The ZCOM is an ultra-lightweight shaft that increases launch angle and spin and performs extremely well for a wide range of players.  Players from Senior to the PGA tour, all have benefited from this shaft.

Considered to be a medium launch, medium spin shaft.  The higher torque (4.5) coupled with a light weight (range of 52 to 59 grams), makes this shaft a monster for increasing distance and carry.

The ZCOM bending profile allows for a flatter ball flight which is why the better players like this ultra light shaft. For above average to better players with smooth tempos, the ZCOM is truly a shaft built for speed and distance.

Actual Player Feedback-

“The Z Com shafts are premier possibly the best shafts on the market especially the SIX”

“Simply the best distance shaft on the market.  I sell ton’s of these monster’s.”

Pros/Positives-

An Ultra lightweight shaft that will definitely increase ball speed.  This is a proven winner on all tours making this a very versatile shaft – many players will fit well into this profile.  A couple of guys that play the ZCOM?  How about Zach Johnson (fairway) and Luke Donald for starters.  On the LPGA tour, Annika Sorenstam is probably the best known user of the ZCOM.

Cons/Negatives-

Price.  This shaft is an upper end shaft over $200.  Not many people will drop this kind of money.

Overall Rating-

Providing you don’t mind spending extra on a shaft, the Fujikura ZCOM Six is definitely one to try.  The ZCOM is a lightweight shaft that delivers ball speed that produces performance in both carry and distance.  Fujikura should really market this shaft more, many golfers would love this shaft.
